1) What is the difference between IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training (GT) Modules?
  • Generally, Academic modules are meant for candidates who wish to enrol in higher level studies, or for registration with certain professional bodies.
  • GT modules on the other hand are usually meant for those going to an english speaking country, to complete their secondary studies, to undertake work experience or training not at degree level, or for solely immigration purposes.
2) How long is the test results valid for?
  • An IELTS test report is generally valid for two years, if accompanied by evidence that the candidate has make an effort to maintain or improve on his/her english language proficiency. This however may not always be the case, and candidates are advised to check with relevant authorities.
3) Can I change or cancel my test, or transfer my vacancy to another candidate?
  • IELTS candidates will be charged the full test fee if they postpone or cancel the test within 5 weeks of the test date, unless they provide appropriate medical evidence to support the postponement or cancellation. Medical evidence must be provided within 5 days of the test date.
  • IELTS registration is non-transferable under any circumstances.
4) My first language is English. Do I still need to take IELTS?
  • This question can only be answered by the relevant migration authorities, for eg The Australian High Commission.

5) I have a tertiary degree, and have a lot of work experience in an english speaking country. Do I still need to take IELTS?

  • Similarly, this question can only be answered by the relevant migration authorities.

6) Do you conduct IELTS preparation courses?

  • While we do not conduct any IELTS preparation courses, IELTS practice materials are available for sale. Each pack consist of 1 guidebook, 2 CDs and cost $80. When registering for IELTS, please check with our staff on availability of stock.
