We provide educational counselling for students who are unsure of the educational qualifications needed for a particular career.

Procedure

Participants will sit for a computer-based career assessment test, which examines the individual’s interest profile and generates job suggestions for the participant to consider
The first section requires the participant to rate how he feels about different job descriptions on a 5-point scale
The second section requires the participant to make “forced-choice?decisions between 2 job descriptions at a time. At this stage, the counsellor will analyse the results generated by the software to identify any inconsistencies or inaccuracies.
The third section requires the participant to rate how he feels about certain aspects of the work environment (e.g. being outdoors, dirt, ability to showcase certain talents and abilities etc.)
The fourth section requires the participant to list some of the physical limitations he might have that would affect his ability to perform certain types of work.
Upon completion of the test, the counsellor will interpret the computer-generated results and go through the job suggestions with the participant.
