QUT’s Creative Industries faculty is a global pioneer of the creative industries concept, and we lead the way in this continually evolving environment.

Our courses provide you with advanced creative practice technique, real-world skills, practical experiences and opportunities for industry placements. We encourage you to look through windows into other creative areas through experimentation and collaboration on performances, exhibitions and projects, preparing you for a range of employment options by broadening your perspective of the creative industries and your place within it.

Housed in the innovative Creative Industries Precinct, you’ll have access to world-class performance and exhibition spaces, and industry standard equipment in production, editing and design.

  • We teach across a unique range of study areas, so you can enhance your creative practice and heighten your employment options by adding expertise in areas such as journalism, digital media or business studies.
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts courses are designed predominantly for the practitioner artist. You will be immersed in your chosen creative discipline, spending most of your time within a studio environment, refining your technique.
  • Bachelor of Creative Industries courses are designed for the more reflective practitioner who wishes to work within one or more disciplines in the creative industries. You will explore a second study area so you can forge a career in the creative industries and allied professions.

QUT’s Faculty of Information Technology is an established leader in high-quality education in the dynamic area of information and communication technologies.

  • We offer a range of courses focusing on information systems, network systems, software engineering, corporate systems management, games and interactive entertainment.
  • Polytechnic graduates with a Diploma in Information Technology (or related discipline area) are able to complete the Bachelor of Information Technology and Master of Information Technology (by coursework) in 2 years (4 semesters of study).
  • The Faculty of Information Technology offers a range of scholarships for high-achieving international students.
