The Graduate Australian Medical School Admissions Test (GAMSAT)
has been developed by ACER (Australian Council for Educational
Research) in conjuction with the Consortium of Graduate Medical
Schools to assist in the selection of students to participate in
the graduate-entry programs.
GAMSAT is available to any student who has completed bachelors
degree or who will be in the penultimate of final year of study for
a bachelors degree at the time of sitting the test. However, dental
health professionals without a degree qualification may also sit
the test and apply for admission to the University of Sydney
graduate-entry dental program.
GAMSAT is designed to assess the capacity to undertake high
level intellectual studies in a demanding course. The test is
offered once a year only.
GAMSAT is divided into three sections:
- Reasoning in Humanities and Social Sciences
- Written Communication
- Reasoning in Biological and Physical Sciences
